Why this property? This 'Old Florida' Vintage property is appealing for his historic charm. The high ceilings, and wood floors are stunning. We took a home that need to be revitalized to its original charm of the 1950's. The Ballantine Manor Estates was occupied by professionals, who wanted a short drive to Sarasota. It was a most desirable neighborhood of its day! Many properties in Ballantine Manor are being revived and updated with multi-million dollar homes facing Sarasota Bay.

Guestbook comments from the owner:
This gorgeous original Florida home was lovingly restored and the second you walk in the front door you can feel the relaxed atmosphere throughout the home. I am a parent that was leaving my 'baby' girl at NCF and it was emotionally tough. Staying in this beautifully appointed home, where we were able to bring along our 11 year old lab, was the perfect choice for us, it felt as if we were at home. Being close to NCF was a real bonus. If not for moving my daughter into college we would have had the energy and time to visit all of the cultural venues that Sarasota has to offer. The proximity to the airport would be convenient if flying in/out of SRQ and the noise level was never ever a problem. Cleanliness of the home was up to par and all the amenities were available, shampoo, hair dryer, fully stocked kitchen, etc. . As you turn down the street to arrive at the home there is a beautiful view of the bay. We walked every morning and evening down to the bay to enjoy the beauty. The layout of the home was perfect for my 91 year old Aunt to easily get around, she visited for a day and sunbathed in the privacy of the back yard next to the pool. I would certainly come back to stay here if I had the chance. Thank you Tom Lyon for sharing your lovely home.
Our home is well appointed for the guests who visit Sarasota, either to be near one of the colleges/universities, or to be with family and explore the white sandy beaches, cultural venues, eat at a variety of culinary choices to meet every taste, or to be a part of a sporting event such as Major League Baseball, rowing, parasailing, fishing, or even developing athletic skills at the nearby IMG Academy. Our property provides a large (30' x 60') in-ground pool that is heated in the cooler months, when it is time to relax in a well-maintained tropical Florida setting. Walks to Sarasota Bay, only half a block from the house, are a great way to exercise your dog, meet other friendly folks, and enjoy the terrific sunsets and views across the Bay. Pack your bags and spend a week, month or longer in our Pet Friendly Old Florida Vintage Pool Home and enjoy all that Sarasota and Gulf Coast have to offer.
A really great experience and will recommend this rental to everyone. looking fwd to doing it again. great location and the home was fully equipped as advertised. well maintained and had no problems what so ever. loved the pool and closeness to the gulf!
We stayed here the last week of June. Property was exactly as described. Beautiful house, well kept. Even though only 2 BR, they are very spacious. The courtyard to the pool area is great. Very private. If you have pets, make sure the gate is closed every morning, as the landscaper is in and out. Margaret was extremely nice and very accommodating. Everything as neat as a pin and would definitely stay here again.
We loved the home , lots of privacy and the pool was awesome! The house was beautiful and very clean! Would definitely stay again

Tropical Serenity near the Bay
One half block to amazing daily sunsets is the traditional Florida home we have stayed for three months this fall. Interiors are spacious and harmonious. Hardwood floors lots of light and dog friendly made this perfect for our family. Kitchen is adequate but you have everything you need. Behind rows of lush Palm trees and a colorful hedge is a full sized salt water pool that we enjoyed very much. The neighborhood is safe and friendly. On maps the location looks sketchy but it is close to everything cultural, 29 minutes to Lido Beach or Siesta Key. The realtor is very sweet and available at the stop of a hat should you need anything. We definitely will stay here again. Such a wonderful home.
