About the Property
From the second floor of this 6 Unit condominium building the views are incredible overlooking Boca Ciega Bay. Catch the manatees as they meander through our large cove while the dolphins perform tricks . The pelicans are constantly fishing off our dock where we have a private boat slip available for your use. We have furnished our home in cottage-style with new furniture, all appliances, kitchenware, towels and linens, and stainless steel appliances. this two bedroom-two bath unit has a washer and dryer, a queen-sized bed in each bedroom, central a/c and ceiling fans in each room. A large flat screen TV in the living room and a flat screen TV in the master bedroom along with wireless internet provide fast, sharp service and easy connection. Now, back to the view...we usually eat all of our meals out on our screened porch where we can totally relax and enjoy the spectacular view. We also spend a lot of time at the beach which is a short 10 minute walk (about two blocks) and carry our chairs, towels, etc. on our beach cart and usually grab a snack or drinks (beer or wine) at the beach cafe to bring with us down to the water. On Sunday's we join the friendly crowd at the drum-circle on the beach. Before heading home we stop at the Thunderbird Resort and sit at the table on the beach and listen to live music while sipping a final cocktail. Remember, drinking rum before noon makes you a Pirate, not an alcoholic!!!
So close to the beach yet out of the hustle and bustle, this home that fronts directly on Boca Ciega Bay is perfect for that peaceful time where we could kick off our shoes and relax. Ideally located, we rarely get in the car because almost everything we do or need is within a short walking distance. The incredible city of St. Petersburg is only 15 minutes away and the the Rays play about 10 minutes from our house. St. Pete airport is only 25 minutes away while the Tampa airport is about 35 minutes away.
Our home is on an island that's on an island. We're on Isle of Palms, a small residential island that's reachable by car or boat from Treasure Island, the best barrier island along Florida's west coast (in our opinion). We're about 15 minutes directly west of downtown St. Petersburg which has become the coolest city with art, music, dance, concerts, architecture, biking, walking, education facilities, airport and just about everything else you can imagine for an active lifestyle. What a contrast to the laid-back life on Treasure Island. Our beach is set back from the main road so once you're at the water the only sounds you here are are seagulls and waves lapping on the shore. Within short walking distance to our home you'll find a variety of eating establishments, bars, Publix Supermarket, Walgreens, our community center and great local shopping. Within a 15 minute drive you'll find literally everything else you may need. Laid-back or active, this wonderful barrier island has a lot to offer.
Attractions Within Walking Distance
Dining, dancing, live music, Publix, Walgreens, the beach, and just about everything else you may need is within walking distance.
Favorite Places To Eat
Rickie T's, Shrimpy's, BRGRS, Britt's Pizza, VIP Mexican, Beverly's, just to name a few. We won't tell you our very favorite place unless you rent from us, but if you like fresh fish, you'll love this place.
You can drink on the beach, hang out at Thunderbird beach bar and listen to music for free, walk to Caddy's on Sunset Beach or Ka Tiki where live music is played every night of the year. Take a tour of the bridge tenders office, play 9 holes of golf or pickle ball, enjoy beach yoga and the drum circle.

About the owner: This is our second home, only about 35 minutes from our primary. Treasure Island is a really unique part of Florida with so much to explore yet as laid-back as you would ever want. If we can't live on a Caribbean we'll take the next best thing...Treasure Island, Florida.
Why this property? We lived full time on Anna Maria Island (Florida) for 15 years with three of our kids but it became so crowded with tourists we knew it was time to leave. We moved to Safety Harbor (Tampa area) to be closer to our grand kids but missed the beach life so much that we started looking for a second home. We bought a second home in Englewood on Lemon Bay but the nearly two-hour drive became a little too much so after 3 years the search started again. We were looking specifically for a beach community close by our primary residence where we could walk to the beach and downtown where we could enjoy all that a small beach community had to offer. We also wanted either a pool or a boat slip. We found our new home by driving the beach towns of Pinellas County until we settled on Treasure Island. We then continually drove the streets of this small community looking at homes available on the market but saw a little For Sale By Owner sign on the outside of this classic 1960's style building. There were only 6 units in the building, 3 up and 3 down and the one that was for sale turned out to be this 2 bedroom/2 bath upstairs unit with sweeping views of Boca Ciega Bay. We made an offer that day and closed the sale two weeks later. After 1 1/2 years, we still love our time at the beach in our beautiful home.
