Only the sound of the ocean from your own private deck in the back of the house, which directly faces the Atlantic Ocean!

Matanzas, Castillo de San Marco (very large fort with working cannons)!
Our oceanfront home is located at 5224 Atlantic View, St. Augustine, FL. This is a quiet street 3 blocks east of the busy traffic on A1A in the Butler Beach Section. There is very little traffic other than the residents who live on our street. We do not have condos or commercial businesses on this street, making it a wonderful street for walking your dog or bike riding along our ocean road.

LET'S TALK ABOUT FEES:
WE DON'T CHARGE ANY! The only exception is the charge for Cleaning and Pets.
There's something you should know about St. Augustine Rentals: Most realtors and property management companies charge guests extra fees that are ABOVE and BEYOND their commission that is paid by the homeowner. We do not use any of these management companies for this reason. We also stopped using VRBO and HomeAway for the same reason as well as Trip Advisors and all the other extensions of HomeAway. They're all paid by the homeowner for advertising their properties, and then they charge YOU "online booking fees" and "management fees" on top of that.
The perfect example of this is a St. Augustine rental management company calling themselves "Vacation Rental Pros." Their One-Star Reviews became so numerous that they had to change their name in the summer of 2017 to "V-Trips." Call them to verify this. Among the extra fees and charges you'll be billed for are "Booking Fees," "Management Fees," "Amenity Fees" (whatever that is) and "Security Damage Waivers Fees." The latter is a NON-REFUNDABLE insurance policy that they buy for $49 for which they charge you as much as $295. You are billed $295 whether or not you even drop as much as a coffee mug and break it. We know this, because we had them for a year as our property managers (2014) and had to fire them because the aggravation was intolerable. We had so many phone calls from our guests that we had to get rid of them!
Today we do our own booking and have a wonderfully thorough local team of housekeepers (who have a crew of 4 working for them) to do changeovers, cleanups and other issues. This couple lives 12 minutes away from our property and helps us with any management issues.
We do allow pets and our home is very pet-friendly. Pets are $200 for the 1st Pet and $50 additional for each, up to a maximum of 3 pets total.

We directly manage our rental home. You do not have to go through an agent or property manager who will charge you fees and extra add-ons.
Beware of "Vacation Rental Pros," "V-Trips" and other management companies who charge "Booking Fees," "Amenity Fees" and "Management Surcharges." They also charge as much as $295 for "Security Damage Waiver Fees" which are not refunded even if you do not damage anything. This is an insurance policy which costs $49 that they sell you for $295.
Insult to injury, you are then TAXED at the rate of 10.5% on these surcharges and Fees. WE DO NOT CHARGE FEES OF ANY KIND. Cleaning is $200 and Pets are an additional $200, and that is it.
Why this property? Carolyn and I actually looked for our oceanfront home for many years. Most homes we saw were on busy A1A and not near any attractions for our grandchildren.
We settled on the St. Augustine Area for it's many attractions, but still could not find the right oceanfront on a nice, quiet street away from noisy condos and restaurants. We finally found our home on Atlantic View in Butler Beach in December of 2011 and knew this was "the one."

We have just come back from a week long stay at this wonderful beach home. Like the others have commented, this is an older "Florida" beach home that was exactly what we were hoping for. It is very quaint, extremely clean, and the most perfect place to rest, relax and rejuvenate! The bedrooms we're perfect for our family of 7, but would easily sleep 12 or more. The downstairs bedroom was perfect for our young adults and the on suite bath made it even better. This home has everything and more that you could want in a rental, with all the room, appliances, dishes, pots & pans, towels, sheets, and the most beautiful views of the ocean...which we lived the sunrises each morning. The upper deck was enjoyed by all. Even my 76yr old mother climed the stairs for the views. I can't say enough about this home and the owners. They were super nice to talk with and very accommodating. They worked with us, letting us come in on a Sunday to Sunday and when we had an issue with the A/C, it was taken care of immediately! We plan on renting again in the very near future! Thank you to the Amon's for allowing us to stay in their home!!

How far are you from the beach?
We are oceanfront. The vegetated dune is approximately 400' wide all along this section of coastline, but fortunately we have a wooden public walkway located just 100' to the north with which to gain easy access to the sandy beach ocean.
Do you allow pets?
We do allow pets and our home is very pet-friendly. The only carpeting in the entire house is an area rug in the LR, otherwise the rest of the flooring is either ceramic tile and/or hardwood flooring.
How many people are allowed to stay here?
We are permitted 12 people. We have 4 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms, with 2 additional queen-size pullout sofa-beds for extra guests.
