About the Property
Pelican Point is a small, gated condo community situated on the Intracoastal Waterway and Indian River Lagoon, the most biologically diverse estuary in North America.
We are located on the third floor of a four story building. Many folks who own their units live on premises so there is a close knit community feel. The Club House offers a place for cards and games and folks to gather.
Our waterfront 2 bedroom/2 bath unit is completely furnished. You'll sleep soundly on queen beds with thick, firm mattresses and soft linens. There’s ceramic tile throughout our bright and sunny condo, and we offer free high speed internet, WI-FI, & super cable. The living room has a 40" flat screen HDTV and the guest room a 32". Best of all are the terrific water views from the living/dining room, kitchen, and master bedroom. You can watch rocket launches and see pelicans, dolphin and osprey fish from your screened porch!
A fully equipped kitchen includes everything you’ll need and our Pub table in the dining area seats 4. In the living room is a double sleeper sofa with linens for the occasional guest. Recently the master bathroom was completely remodeled and includes a tiled shower stall, granite vanity and chair height toilet. The guest bath includes a toilet, full tub and shower.
There are myriad ways to enjoy the natural resources of this unique area. Take a 6 mile drive to Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge and Canaveral National Seashore where thousands of waterfowl, birds, and stork use the area as a stopover during the winter and many stay year ‘round. View gators, otter, bald eagles and more. The 24 miles of undeveloped beach in the Seashore is outstanding.
Purchase a Florida fishing license, throw a line from our sea wall and reel In dinner! Major theme parks, outlet malls, Cirque du Soleil, Downtown Disney are not far. You’ll enjoy local seafood and other fare in many excellent restaurants within 1-4 miles from Pelican Point.
For a fun and educational experience, tour NASA's launch headquarters at Kennedy Space Center. It's a quick 8 mike drive. See live shows, try out interactive simulators; watch an IMAX movie and learn about space exploration.
When the water stays above 68 degrees, you'll have the opportunity to see our endangered Florida manatees. Closeup viewing areas are near the condo and it’s likely you’ll see these endearing mammals from your screened porch. Summer is turtle nesting season when over 7000 endangered and threatened, giant leatherback, green and loggerhead sea turtles crawl ashore at night to nest in Canaveral National Seashore. For an unforgettable experience in June and July make reservations ) to accompany a Park Ranger on a turtle watch at night when you can observe these ancient creatures lay a clutch of over 100 eggs then laboriously camouflage them before returning to the sea. Year 'round you can find plenty to do in our area. We know you'll love what we have to offer. And the sunshine will make you happy.

About the owner: My husband and I were snowbirds from western North Carolina until permanently moving to Florida in 2004. I have volunteered for the NPS at Canaveral National Seashore (Apollo Beach in the north district) since 2005 as a Florida Master Naturalist on guided canoe/kayak trips, pontoon boat cruises, environmental education programs, sea turtle watches, and other programs as well as in the visitor Center in New Smyrna Beach. Recently retiring from my paid position as manager of Canaveral’s book store, I am enjoying church activities, volunteering at the local food pantry, kayaking, sea turtle nest surveying for Volusia County, and most of all having my daughter and 4 grandchildren nearby. My husband is an avid reader, woodworker and enjoys our wonderful climate.
Why this property? The first time we opened the front door the water views took our breath away! We loved the bright interior, the constant breeze and great central location. Being able to view shuttle and rocket launches and watch birds and marine life from the screened porch helped seal the deal. We planned to move after selling our home. Unfortunately, my husband’s health deteriorated and we needed to stay in New Smyrna Beach where we were living at the time.
Our condo has been a joy to share with others. All our reviews have been excellent, and we have several guests who return yearly. Please feel free to ask for references.
After listing for many years on another rental site we chose Florida Rentals in order to save our guests a booking fee.
