About the Property
Little Gasparilla is geographically located on Florida's West Coast, forty miles north of Ft. Myers, and fifty miles south of Sarasota. These gulf front two-story town homes overlook the Gulf of Mexico with multiple dockage on the Intracoastal waterways. Our condo is decorated and has all the conveniences necessary to make you feel at home. Accessible only by our Association Ferry-boat service ( free of charge on all scheduled trips and free vehicle parking on our fenced parking lot) or personal boat, please contact unit owner for additional information on overnight boat trailer parking at nearby marinas or go to our santanagetaway website.
This little barrier island is called paradise island, people get to mingle while riding the ferry-boat, the folks that visit us are always concerned as to the wild life, vegetation, and the shell laden beach.
We had a local Realtor searching to purchase beach property back in 1997, when I received the phone call and explained that it was an island with no commercial establishments, and that all your food would be brought by ferry boat on a push-cart, I said, "It sounds like a Gilligan's island to me, not what we are looking for, but we love to come and see it! Once we stepped-off the ferry boat and walked the complex and the beach waters, we were sold and have never looked back, we have been here now for over 20 years and loving every minute of it! Util you have slept next to the ocean you will never know , what you're missing!
Why Kids Love It
As long as your kids can swim, you have no worries! The travel method on this island is by golf car and everyone explores to understand the island life.
If you are into golf or shopping, this is not for you, as you must depend on the ferry-boat for transportation from and to the island, and that is on a set schedule: Sunday & Mondays start at 8.a.m.-8.p.m. (every 2 hours) Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays starts at 8.a.m.-11-2-5-8.p.m. Friday starts at 10.a.m. -10 p.m. (every 2 hours) Saturday starts at 8.a.m.-10.p.m. (every 2 hours) We have a 24/7 caretaker on the complex and Emergency Fire and Rescue unit on the island 24/7. The local Hospital is 7-1/2 miles and if an emergency they can always fly you out of the island by their helicopter.

We have pushcarts on the mainland side to take luggage and groceries to the unit "please return cart when you're finished unloading so that someone else can use it on the next scheduled trip"- We will provide you with the combination code to the parking lot gate that is directly across the street from the ferry-boat dock on the mainland side actual GPS co-ordinance is (12000 Placida Road, Placida, FL 33946)
Take a ferry-pass from inside the mailbox over the parking lot gate code and complete the required information, hand the bottom part to the ferry-boat captain (this and provide a copy of the also completed Ferry-Guest form I provided you) keep this form with you at all time boarding the ferry-boat, this is your ticket to ride! In my informational letter I will provide the necessary codes for your stay.

We require a refundable security deposit of $500.00 to secure the unit's time, we appreciate our collection be done by personal checks, money orders, or cashier checks, whenever there are currency exchange, the local banks will charge an additional charge on these, charges varies and we depend on the Bank informing us of such charges before we can pass-this-on to the renters. If all goes well, we will inform our customers prior to booking as soon as we become aware of currencies being used! We can also accept payments by major credit card, however, there is a convenience 3% transaction fee by PayPal that will be deducted from your original deposit refund, if we are not told of credit card use, we will access, when we are told and hold-off the amount before refunding the security deposit, we will work with you in everything we can, we have developed this family business throughout the past 20 years by being honest and customer oriented. Our weekly rates include the use of a golf cart. Our monthly rate use of golf car is negotiable but not included, see unit owner for information.

About the owner: In 1997 we purchased a unit at Hideaway and in 2000 we purchased our second unit, we actually established internet rental here as the rentals were word of mouth and controlled by a family who basically ran the Hideaway complex. We sold a unit in 2005 and kept the newest one which is unit H-3. When we first heard about Little Gasparilla island "the ferry-boat, no vehicles allowed, away from noise and the rat race of 9 to 5 world we live-in", initially as it was describe over the phone by the Realtor, it sounded as sort of a "Gilligans island" type to us, but we agreed to come on the following weekend, once we landed on the island side, we became in love with this beautiful bridge-less barrier island.
Why this property? Watch sunsets from your front porch. Enjoy the serenity of no traffic on the island, only means of transportation is by golf car. The Hideaway Bay Beach Club at Little Gasparilla island is only accessible by private boat or the Association Ferry-boat, we have twenty-six free, first come, first served boat slips on the island side, maximum boat length is 24 feet. Charter fishing guide available at the Marinas nearby. The Santana family unit H-3 has breath taking views of the Gulf of Mexico. This two story, 2 rooms, 2 full bathroom condo is equipped with all the amenities of home.
Unwind on seven miles of white sand crystal clear beach water while enjoying unforgettable Sunsets. Disembark from the fast-paced 9 to 5 and discover serenity. For those with fishing interests, Boca Grande Pass is "world famous for Tarpon and backwater fishing".

The physical address of this property is 9400 Little Gasparilla Island, we are on a bridge-less barrier island, just a 10 minute boat ride from our Welcome boarding area on the mainland at "12000 Placida Road, Placida, FL. Secure parking area is directly across street. Unload luggage onto the push cart, then onto the Ferry-Boat all the way to our property, return cart to island side ferry landing for others to use.
What is there to do there?
We are a get-away from it all location, there are no commercial establishments on the island. The ferry-boat runs on a daily set schedule, we would like to provide all with certain information: If you enjoy shopping malls or playing golf, "THIS MAY NOT BE FOR YOU" reason being you would depend on the ferry-boat to take you and bring you back which could be a stressful situation due to the scheduling of the boat.
Is there emergency services on the island?
Yes, we have an ER and Fire fighting services, there is a procedural system to follow, ask unit owner to provide process.
Quiet Island Vacation
My husband, myself and three friends recently stayed on Little Gasparella Island. We were really pleased with the small island atmosphere. There are no cars on the island but we rented a golf cart for a very reasonable rate from the owner of the condo that we rented. It has a beautiful beach and lots of shells to find. Our condo, H-3 which is owned by Orlando Santana, was comfortable and had everything you would need including beach chairs, umbrellas and towels. The evenings were quiet and you could see the stars. It had excellent ferry service, which is free for guest at the condos. The ferry had a very accommodating schedule. Our time spent there went by too fast but we know that we will make it a must do vacation every winter.
