Here are some dining places to try:
New local business! Ellie Mae’s (a great outdoor bar with great food).
Seafood Atlantic open Wed-Sun close early! All fresh items nothing fried. Order a fish sandwich take home eat on the beach! Go inside they have a market: get the tuna and fish dip eat with crackers and a bottle of wine. Yummy!
One of our favorite dining places is "Grills" restaurant, we get the catch of the day meal (choice of fish, slice of toast, two sides) I get Tahiti taters comes with an awesome cream sauce and glazed string carrots. So Good! They have live music on weekends. Nice outside dining and Bar. Watch the cruise ships go by.
Grills also has an amazing breakfast! Really Good, no joke! Also watch the local fisherman bring in their morning catches.
Across from Grills is a small marine shop with super cute items. There is also a place to go parasailing. Must Call and book a time.
Rising Tide owned by the Fishlips Corp. It is a beautiful restaurant with Unique flare and great sunsets. A beautiful bar with lots of televisions.
Our favorite: The seafood nachos! Hours may have changed.
Fishlips is just okay, we only go for drinks and apps.
Junkaroo has a nice menu with great views of water and wildlife. Look at all the unique art on the walls made from junk. They struggle with getting wait staff.

The best Italian:
For Italian and pizza is none other than Zarrillos! The brick oven pizza is the best!
Kelsey’s down the street from Zarrilos also has very good pizza and pasta dishes. Get the Salad so fresh. Even better is the homemade dressing that sits on your table. Local Czechoslovakian owned.
Best Latin Flare:
Vargas cafe. A small Cuban cafe. Great Cuban sandwiches and amazing Cuban coffee! Alfred is adorable. He and his family escaped communist Cuba. He has a strong work ethic and political views of freedom. We Love Him!
Ah Mexican. The best is in Oklahoma. But La Catrina Mexican is our favorite Mexican when we visit Cape Canaveral. They have a vibrant atmosphere with a great outdoor patio to enjoy food and drinks. Grab a Pitcher of margaritas and you are set. La Catina is next to Starbucks
Best Americana:
Long Doggers. We love the ahi tuna poke bowls. Lite seared. Good hotdogs. Fun atmosphere for kids and families.
Florida's Seafood Bar and Grill is also a local favorite. Always busy so try to go early. The powdered sugar fritters are worth it.
The Florida Key Lime Pie. Company Across from Ron Jons. They have the best key lime pie. We always buy a whole pie when we visit!
Sandbar Sports Grill is fun place but beware overpriced food. Great for a drink, an app, and live music. Be cautious on parking across the street. Obviously some owners like to tow people for parking in their parking lots.
Old Cocoa Beach Area: Park and walk through the area shops, eateries, stores, go over to the beach... see some crazy.
Oasis Snow- located in in old Cocoa beach town. The best snow cones. We get the butter beer with extra cream on top! It's her own Harry Potter recipe. Owner Vicky makes all her syrups from scratch.
4th Street Fillin Station. New place. Different!
Juice N Java Cafe. Christian-family business. A great lunch place. Great coffee.
For our “Liberal” vegan loving friends...whom we still love. Tiny Turtle is a tasty small eclectic Caribbean fusion cafe.
The Simpler times Market and Deli behind Tiny Turtle is a great local market. All kinds of fun stuff to try and take home. Very local and very fresh.
Skinny Mermaid has Boba iced drinks. You must try Boba milk tea! Awesome. Coffee and poke bowls. So healthy! Clean food.
Famous Coconuts! The tiki-face themed restaurant with live music, bar, and people watching for sure. You may see some crazy stuff so be extra careful! But it is a fun popular place. Overpriced food.
You can look these places up on your phones map.
Checkout Merrit Island locations:
We love Sonny's barbecue. When we need our barbecue fix. Its a chain that we don’t get in Oklahoma.
Chick-Fil-a in front of the mall. When we need our fix. Watch YouTube video of comedian Tim Hawkins sing the Chick-fil-a song.
We also love the Island Waterfront Bar. Looks like a dive because it is! It is so fun and food is 85-90% good. They have local music or DJ. The outside dining is great. It sits on the river right before the 7-11 gas station.
Behind the Merrit Island Mall on Fortenberry Rd there is an awesome DELI called Hayes Meats & Gourmet Foods. They have elk, deer, boar, fish, you name it. I got an Italian deli sandwich it was so good!!!
Need a shopping day: Try out Historic Cocoa Village shopping area. The historic part of town located on Merrit Island causeway and Delannoy Ave. Lots of shops, art, history, and restaurants.
On Sundays. Go out to Lone Cabbage Fish Camp on Highway 520. Great fish fry and take a 30 min air-boat ride for $25 bucks. You may see a gator!
