About the Property
This beautiful, two-story waterfront home has a private heated pool and hot tub. There is a kayak and a canoe included which is perfect for exploring the uninhabited wildlife islands out back. Watch dolphins and manatees, as well as fishing and pleasure boats. This well cared for and maintained home sits in a small neighborhood of private homes on Anclote Island--just a 1/4 mile from downtown Tarpon Springs; just a short few minutes drive to three lovely beaches including Fred Howard, Sunset and Anclote. Tarpon is a Greek fishing community and a cultural treasure with many historical registry homes.
The master bedroom downstairs opens up to the pool and waterfront, and has an attached bath suite with seamless shower and garden tub with jets. Flat screen tv and queen mattress with comfy topper and linens. Upstairs balcony bedroom has queen mattress and waterfront second story view. Additional bedrooms are perfect for kids and teens with bunks and twin beds. The bunk bedroom is lofted next to a small library area stocked with books and games. There are two additional full bathrooms--one upstairs that is newly remodeled, and one downstairs which opens to the pool.
The patio has a full size gas grill and plenty of outdoor seating, and also includes an expansive waterfront backyard with outdoor fire pit for rare Florida chilly evenings. Both pool and hot tub may be heated at guest discretion. The kids will find rafts, sand toys and pool toys.
The kitchen is fully stocked with plenty of cookware and stainless appliances--including a gas stove. There are all the necessities such as blender, coffee maker, ice cream maker, and more that make a kitchen a well-functioning kitchen! Wine glasses, plenty of dishes and servers, and a formal dining area for 8. A breakfast counter in the great room is perfect for quick bites. From here, guests can watch the flatscreen tv or sit on the conversation pit styled sofa.
A laundry room is located just off the kitchen and guests will also find fishing poles, nets, bait bucket, some sports equipment, beach chairs, and more, as well as ironing board and iron, and port-a-crib.
Fishing can be done from the backyard on the beach, or on a sandbar which appears at low tide. Bicycles provided to bike nearby Pinellas Trail.
This house really has it all for your vacation get-away but feel free to call with questions or special needs.
Unique Benefits
Without a doubt, the uniqueness of this home is the fact that it is located just adjacent to downtown Tarpon Springs, and yet is on a private, island road giving it a private feel that encourages wildlife. Guests continually report seeing dolphins in the backyard, manatees, tarpon, eagles, osprey and more. Our repeat guest rate is 20% and we have wonderful reviews.
Why Kids Love It
Kids love the new Spray Park 2 miles away and Anclote Park just up the road.
Area Information
Tarpon Springs has loads to do--good restaurants and plenty of shopping. Greek gifts and food, an antiquing district with charming brick streets. Victorian homes line the Craig Bayou where the Epiphany Celebration takes place each January. The exceptional Howard Park is a beautiful Gulf Coast Beach, and Sunset Beach has free concerts one Thursday a month. Night in the Islands fills the Sponge Dock streets one Saturday a month with al fresco dining and Greek street dancing. Charter and fishing boats are available, as are excursion boats. Anclote Key just offshore is not to be missed! It is a pristine island for beaching with working lighthouse.
Tampa is approximately 30 minutes east, Clearwater Beach about 40 minutes south, and Orlando about 1-1/2 hours east. Innisbrook Golf is about 10 minutes south and Tarpon has a city golf course as well. Walkers and bikers will enjoy the Pinellas Trail just 1/2 mile from the home and covers over 30 miles of trails. So much to do and yet Tarpon Springs contains the quiet ambiance of a homey beach town. It is truly one of the best kept secrets in Florida. I have a return guest rate of 20-30%.

A perfect vacation in an uncertain time!
This house was perfect for my family. We loved the pool, the hot tub, the canoe, the view of the water and seeing the dolphins! Kids swam all day and then we were able to fire up the grill for dinners. It was like being in our own little world -- no noise, no people, only great views and calming waters. Although a bit tough with no sidewalks for part of it, we did walk to and from the Sponge Docks a few times. This house had everything that you could possibly need and what wonderful people to book from! Thank you so much, it was tough to leave so we will definitely be back!!

Thank you, Nancy for taking great care of our home! I know what you mean about the section with no sidewalk. That is part of what keeps our neighborhood private so that visitors from town don't walk out our way. We appreciate your comment for other guests to see.
Great place to enjoy the water and peace and quiet. The owners were great and the house had everything we wanted.
We would definitely stay there next time we are in Tarpon. Great greek food close by and Jimmy's pizza has the best wings around and really good pizza. The owners made sure we had everything we needed in this difficult times.

Perfect location nice house
We needed a house for our entire family in a family friendly location and this house was perfect. It was clean the pool and hot tub were a nice bonus. We had to pay extra to heat the pool and hot tub but it was well worth it and reasonable. Becky the owner was great to work with and Fran was amazing. We highly recommend this place to anyone. Thank you for your hospitality.

Amazing Poolside View
We rented this home with 7 adults and had an amazing time. The location is just perfect. Minutes away from the Sponge Docks, Amazing Restaurants, Shopping Centers, Local Beaches and much more. The pool and hot tub are beautiful and practically sit on the river with an amazing view. There is a canoe on the property that you can take out for site seeing and or fishing. Neighborhood is clean, quiet and very PRIVATE. It was very hard packing up to leave. We highly recommend this home and we WILL be back next spring. Thank you Beckie, Fran and all those who made our stay very special!!!

Peaceful
We have stayed at at least 15 different places since traveling to Florida on vacation and this by far is my favorite for my large family. I have stayed in more modern and updated homes but this one has a comforting and happy soul. The amenities and location are perfect. The pool and spa were beautiful and were very well used. The view over coffee in the morning is unmatchable, as is the river at night by the firepit. I spent a week there with a friend and then a week with my entire family and both were great. It is within walking distance of the sponge docks and many restaurants. There is a great dog park and spray park nearby as well as several county parks and great beaches. I will be back! Thanks Beckie and Fran. You could not have been more gracious and hospitable!

Awesome family retreat!
We rented this home with another family. 8 of us were very comfortable. We have rented homes in Florida before and this place is a gem. Most homes just feel like homes in a subdivision whereas this place is a natural oasis. The pool overlooks the water and was fun watching the boats go by and the dolphins swimming by. Very close to the little tourist downtown and some great restaurants. Tarpon Springs is a cute little tourist town, much different than larger suburban cities. Only downside is not a great area for walking. Very small community and a busy road with no sidewalks if you want to walk to town.

Thank you for your lovely review about our home. I am sorry the walkability into town was a problem for you. I didn't realize you didn't have a car until check out time. This is actually part of what protects the privacy of our island. For future guests without cars, know that UBER can get you into town for about $4.00. Tarpon Springs is a great little town and there is a fun and inexpensive trolley that runs around town as well. Thanks to these guests for this helpful comment.
Family Fun in Florida
This relaxing home has so much to offer - we enjoyed the pool, the hot tub, the fire pit and the canoe. The water views are wonderful and the beds are comfortable. The owners are responsive and quick to address any concerns and the location is great- it's close to so much yet gives you the undeniable feeling that you're away from it all. Would definitely stay again!

Family Gathering
What a great home away from home. This property is exactly as advertised and the view on the water spectacular. The 4 bedrooms and 3 baths were perfect for our family’s birthday celebration. We hope to stay there again in the future. Thanks for sharing such a lovely place.
