Unique Benefits
Lighthouse Point, Sanibel Fishing Pier, Marina, Gramma Dot's famous Cafe on the marina and gorgeous shelling beach all provide a wonderful backdrop for the cottage. It's old world charm of the Florida fishing life and seashell gathering makes it more special. Check out the "Glorious Morning" muffins at bakery at the end of the street and 3 great ice cream shops, one also at the end of the street. Lighthouse Cafe is noted for it's awesome breakfasts.
Why Kids Love It
Perfect place to let the older kids take off and run to the beach because parents are only a few minutes away. Large yard and outdoor seating for 4.
(Games, puzzles, streaming TV, and DVDs)
Area Information
Residential, quiet street that leads directly to beach walkway. Decorated with whimsical charm and comfort in tones of blues and sand, this duplex home sits on a huge lot where bird-watching from the screened porch is a must-do. Beach is at the end of the shelled path for morning coffee and dolphin-watching. A block from Sanibel Lighthouse, Fishing Pier, park and shops with the (islander well loved) Lighthouse Cafe and Pinocchio's ice cream parlor.
Attractions Within Walking Distance
Lighthouse Cafe (famous on the island for crab cakes and blueberry pancakes, homemade strawberry preserves!), Pinochio's Ice Cream Parlor, and bike trails.
Lazy Flamingo and other great restaurants are within walking and biking distance.
We generally don't need a car for many area attractions. Most visitors either walk or use the island bike path (behind the house and surrounding the island walkways.)
Favorite Places To Eat
Lazy Flamingo (fresh grouper to die for!) Cheese bread --- YUM
Doc Ford's--Do you know local writer, Randy Wayne White? This is the name of his famous character, Doc Ford. The restaurant is named for him and is many visitors' favorite. Joe's Custard Shop (Yikes!) Too many to mention but check out Sanibel-Captiva Chamber of Commerce.
Inside Scoop
There are a few places that people don't always find like the CROW bird rehab center, Noah's Ark (residents donate their special belongings to this Episcopal Church's fabulous thrift shop...), Joey's Custard, Bailey Village (FL first settlers),
back way through island traffic, Community Center for Olympic and kid pools along with rec center for tennis and work out) various tennis courts and golf,
We'll provide you with lots of the local's insight when you get there. Must check Sanibel Farmer's Market on Sunday mornings... such fun.

We are a duplex cottage but your privacy is of utmost importance to us. This summer we have a couple who have been tried and true coming for 3 months. YOu can have the other side during the summer months for much less than the normal seasonal rate. Sanibel is also quite well loved in the summer with just as much to do as the season. Dr Richard and Karyn Conrath
Year Purchased: 1994
About the owner: Richard and Karyn Conrath have owned and loved Seagrape Cottage since 1994 when we purchased it and have been updating ever since this lovely 1950s cottage every since. It's one of the historic homes on the island and on one of the two best streets on the east end.
We are diligent and careful with our guests needs. We always talk to our potential new guests so we are sure we are both comfortable with the premises. We love dogs so we may accept yours.
Check us out....
Why this property? We have a clientele who generally return every year. They love and care for it as if were their own. It's decorated lovingly with shades of blues to replicate the serene feel of the Gulf of Mexico. The creamy interior colors represent seashells and beach waves. Each piece of furniture is comfortable and cleaned in between guests.
Seagrape Lane (considered by most realtors and many locals), is the best street on the island. It is on the eaat end of Sanibel which is best because it is mostly residential and we can walk to the beach. (If not, people have to find parking and then pay!) We are at Lighthouse Point which is a quick 10 min walk to fishing pier, another beach area, and lighthouse. We are 2 houses from bike path.
