The backyard of this home is a lush paradise with a private, large outdoor back lanai. After a day at the beach, enjoy relaxing with a good book in the hammock made for two or soaking up the sun in the lounge chairs. Spend your evenings barbecuing and dining outdoors with family and friends. The gazebo is surely a favorite spot in the evenings to watch your favorite show or just enjoy the quiet with loved ones around the fire pit table.

Area Information
Holmes Beach is in the middle of Anna Maria Island, which is the less congested, more private part of the beach and island. Yet, you are close to shopping during the day and varied restaurants and bars in the evening. There are many things to do on the island such as a guided boat tour to fish or see wild dolphins, browse the Coquina Beach outdoor market, shop on Historic Bridge Street, or enjoy live music and cocktails on the North Pier. Some interesting things to see close by but off the island, are Moat Marine, Selby Gardens, Hike the Robinson and/or Neal Preserves, or visit the historic Ca'd'zan home where John Ringling and his wife lived and where Great Expectations was filmed.
Attractions Within Walking Distance
Right around the corner are specialty shops:
The Sand Dollar has interesting beach decor items for the home. They also have beach attire at a reasonable price.
Favorite Places To Eat
One of our favorite places to eat is “Bridge Street Tender.”Get a table right on the bay under the large oaks and watch the local fishermen at work. Be sure to order the basa bites or grouper fingers! “ Peaches” is a great place for breakfast or brunch.
One street over from the house is:
-“ Decoy Ducks” and “Feckled Fin”, both lively bars for local hangouts of all ages with music and dancing.
- "The Doctors Office” is a more upscale, small quiet place for unique cocktails. The have the best medicine.
- “The Creamery”. You will find some of the best ice cream on the island.
- “Vinnys”, an authentic Italian shop, which also makes fresh deli sandwiches and Italian pastries. Vinnys is the perfect place to pick up a delicious Italian meal for two (prepackaged for quick pickup), when you want to dine in, but don't want to cook. Vinny’s is right around the corner walking distance.
Inside Scoop
Walk to the end of the north pier off Pine Street around sunset time. Enjoy a burger or fish tacos and wine while you listen to live music as the sun sets.
Enjoy breakfast at the Rod and Reel pier. A very unique experience. There are only a few tables, so go early.

About the owner: This home has been in the family since it was built in 1953. It is in the historic Gutiérrez subdivision where many members of our family still reside today. Gavino Gutiérrez was one of the original founders of Ybor City in Tampa. He was the engineer who laid out the streets of Ybor city in the 1880’s. He also built one of the original homes on Anna María island called “The Shack”, which was located where the main public beach is today. The wood used to build the shack was rescued when the old court house in Tampa was torn down and rebuilt. Gavino Gutiérrez brought the wood by sailboat and had the shack built. This homestead was later taken by eminent domain to establish a public beach. A photo of the original shack is framed in Ann’s House.
Why this property? It feels like a home rather than a rental property. No stairs, quiet neighborhood, spacious yard. There is a private walkway to the beach at the end of the street.

Lovely Home and Location
I was very pleased with our rental. I had an accident going down a step from the laundry room and have 3 cracked ribs as a result of the fall. The light into the room was across the room from where the step is located. If you stay there, be careful. I left a note informing the owner of the danger but there was no response in regard to the incident. I spent 4 hours in an emergency clinic waiting to be seen and to get the needed x-ray's. I am still in terrible pain and according to my Dr. I will be for at least another month.

Karen, Your check out date was Saturday. I found your note regarding your fall on Sunday, when I went to clean. I sent you an email the very next day ( Monday), telling you how sorry I was to hear that you fell. You responded to my email. So, it is not true that I did not respond. We get many elderly renters, like yourself, because we are a one story home. In 19 years, no one has ever fallen. However, since your incident we’ve ordered a “watch your step” floor sticker. Again, Im very sorry
Home Away from home
Hi, we really enjoyed our stay at Anne’s House on AMI. This house is very well located, steps to the beach and restaurants. You will find everything you need in this rental and the owners have really taken care of updating their house. The place was very clean and comfortable for our family. We enjoyed the outside patio and gas fire pit. We will definitely visit again. Thanks Gail.

Love this place
We have stayed at Ann’s Place several times and have always enjoyed the house. Close walk to the beach and local shopping. The best little breakfast cafe just one block over. We especially love the back Llani/ Florida room, we have enjoyed many nights of story telling and reminiscing of beach times on the island. Ann’s Place is clean, comfortable and the owners have always been easy to communicate to. We will certainly come again.
